What's this all about?
he Kingdom of Lindsey (used interchangeably with 'Kingdom of Lindisfaras') is an independent nation-state near Horncastle. We seceded from the UK in 2005 under the name of "Old Rectoryland" (yes - seriously).
The Kingdom is a genuine "new country project", an experiment, and a hobby. It has a population of over 1000 and is bigger than the State of the Vatican City. It stands for political common sense, democracy, and accountability (amongst other liberal values) -- which has led the nation into war with ELDC.
Lindsey is in need of more citizens, and more land, to leave the UK and join our great nation. Lincoln stands to benefit most from this cause, being the traditional capital city of the nation state.
If this citizenship-drive succeeds, and Lincoln becomes fully integrated into Lindsey, the city stands to gain great benefits: as a publicity stunt, the city's declaration of independence and support for Lindsey will grab headlines and create vast media interest if properly publicised. This in turn will boost tourism, create a niche for souvenirs, consolidate and coordinate local interests, and give you an excuse for fireworks and street-parties.
Joining Lindsey is also a nod to your heritage: the original kingdom was founded in 490AD, and our independence was taken by force and violence. We have as much right its return as India, Kenya, Wales, or Cornwall--all similarly conquered and subdued by Evil Colonialists. The Kingdom of Lindsey therefore claims all of East and West Lindsey districts as rightfully ours (especially since the councils placed in charge of the area have turned out to be incompetent and tyrannical rulers). We'd also like Boston, please. UK out of Lindsey!

or Lindisfaras to help Lincoln, we need Horncastrians (and villagers) to join our country.
This means that your home will cease to be a part of the United Kingdom, and become a part of the Kingdom of Lindsey. There are no taxes or hidden charges involved, and for the concerned we're sure we can work out some sort of real-estate dual-citizenship!
By becoming Lindisfaran citizens in this way, you help us by increasing the population, area, and thus the respectability of our nation (and if we generate some news stories, we can finally achieve a wikipedia article).
And you help yourselves by 1) making Lindisfaras and its local interests a genuine, headline-grabbing, powerful political force in the local sphere 2) turning the city into a tourist attraction merely by the addition of a few unusual flags and gimmicks 3) creating a valuable industry in Lindisfaran passports and coinage (and there's a considerable market for the stuff).
Oh, and you get to be a part of something fun and unusual--if you're lucky, you might even get in on this quickly enough to deserve a knighthood!
